Ian Brunton
Graduate Student
Research Summary
Ian is a graduate student in the Planetary Science department, where he primarily studies astrophysical phenomena related to the evolution of our solar system and the dynamics of exoplanets. However, Ian also maintains a keen interest in the geological processes happening in the world around us, joining John’s group first in the field on various geology excursions, which has since blossomed into a deep appreciation for exploring depositional systems and other sedimentary environments. Most recently, he has been studying some well-preserved facies of the Mesoproterozoic to investigate the general conditions of Precambrian Earth.
